So it begins...

I am finding this first blog post much harder than it should be.
Seriously, I think I stared at a blank word document for about an hour. It shouldn't be that difficult right?
Do I just jump right into a topic? Do I talk about myself?
After hours upon hours of very unhelpful research I have decided to introduce myself a bit further. Tell you a bit about why I became a photographer.
My love affair with photography all began with my first camera- a chunky green film camera to be exact.

Over several years (in which I went through 3 digital cameras) I worked hard to hone my photography skills and my unique eye. I would take every opportunity to use my camera- focusing mainly on my natural surroundings. My cat, flowers, mountains. I absolutely loved being able to freeze something and keep it forever.
Don't get me wrong, I still love photographing nature but as life changes so does your subject matter. I became more focused on the beauty of people and their relationships. I think my favorite thing about being family photographer is getting the chance to grow with my clients! Watching clients go from engagement to becoming a family of three is amazing! To watch kids I photographed years ago graduate. Watching life happen. It's such a beautiful thing and I love that I get to build meaningful relationships with my clients. Not just business transactions.

I love that I get to help my clients remember these special moments forever. As life goes on it becomes hard to remember things the way they were. What children were like when they were first born. The beauty of a couples love in the beginning. Sadly, those memories don't always stick in our minds. Believe me, I am the Queen of forgetfulness! So it nice to know that we have something that we can look at to bring us back to that moment.
I have come a long way since that chunky green Kodak and it has been an amazing journey. I can't wait to see what lies ahead and what new memories I get to make/capture!
Well, that’s me,
Your neighborhood friendly photographer!
